Religious festivals and celebrations are important sites for thinking collective life in contemporary society. They are landmarks for momentous temporalities, apogeal moments, collective and individual life’s changing rhythms and intensities, the periodicity of passages. In this sense, they point towards the dynamics and transformations of contemporary society, articulating tradition and modernity in a global economy, but its articulations with the culture of consume is yet to be analysed. Moreover, their multiple forms are one of the most salient facets of contemporary religious pluralism linking religion and economy in a global word. In order to continue the debate engendered on the 30th ISSR Conference, we welcome papers focus on the links between festival and migration, economy, tourism, patrimony, consume and its articulations.
